“One Spring Day” is a suite consisting of five compositions, a colorful nature-inspired journey through sights, places, thoughts, emotions and memories.
The suite opens with “Blossoms”, an ariose hymn depicting slowly falling cherry blossoms, the symbol of spring, its renewal and optimism, but also of life fleetingness.
The second piece, “Quietude” is a contrast to the light atmosphere of the rest of the suite. Its solemn mood creates almost meditative atmosphere, painting a moment of stillness and silence.
“Memories” starts off with the same motive as “Blossoms”, but in a different key and develops in a different direction, as a musical representation of nostalgia for the times gone.
“Breeze” is a highlight of the album, a bright and energetic piece inspired by refreshing spring wind.
“Lullaby” concludes the suite in a poetic prayer-like nocturne dedicated to the night sky and its queen – the beautiful Moon. This piece creates calm lulling atmosphere which concludes the journey of the “One Spring Day”.

You know how sometimes you are learning a piece in DADGBE (Drop D) tuning and think “it would be nice to have a few more pieces in this tuning”? That’s why all five pieces in this suite are written in DADGBE 🙂
